The Wilsons arms in Torver serves food and is dog friendly, within easy walking distance of the cottages along a the old country lane, so you will be easily able to eat out for some great food. Renowned as one of Wordsworth’s favourite haunts, today it’s known locally as a starting point for exploring the local fells and the Duddon Valley and offers a superb base for exploring nearby Hawkshead, Ambleside and Windermere.

Excellent walking, mountain biking, climbing and watersports opportunities are available locally. Coniston Old Man and Wetherlam and the lovely woodland trails at Grizedale Forest are all nearby, with direct access to the ‘Old Man’ from the door without using the car.
